I think another reason that the name "Peking-duck" was called because most
Chinese restaurants are opened and operated by Chinese people from Canton
which is the very southern part of China. In China, we have different kinds
of Chinese restaurants which are designated by the regions.

what year did Peking become Beijing? Was that 1948? I dont know for
sure but I seem to remember 1948 as being a key date in Chinese history.
