Shel, thanks for taking the time to look & comment.
My comments interspersed below - not a defense of the image, just an
explanation.

Hi Ken,
I have to admit that the photo doesn't do much for me. It may in part be
because, having spent a couple of months in Alaska, I'm familiar with the
grandeur of the place, and this little pic just doesn't to justice to the
magnificence and majesty of the area. Perhaps seeing it (the photo)
clear days to an
almost blinding snowstorm with several inches of snow accumulation

If you check past PUG's you'll see that I did something along those lines.
It was titled "North Face" - taken with a 600mm (on film). Got published as
the first place winner in the annual Alaska Magazine photo contest. That
bright peak BTW is Mt Mckinley (Denali). North Face is in fact a feature of
Nice panorama Ken. I love the light on the mountains.

Love the lighting on the highest peak. Because of the flatness and
lack of any interest in the foreground and many of the peaks so
similar, I don't think this makes for a very strong pano. Isolating the
main lit peak so I can see it much better would make for a stronger
image.
