Hi Roman,
I've watched a lot of movies to see how the DP and the cinematographer
frame their shots, and also pay attention to lighting.
Your subject references movies, but your message is about TV ... generally,
lighting and framing are less creative and interesting with TV images, imo.

Myself, I find the CSI shows have the cartoon effect going on. I
really don't like the way they look and as a result don't watch them.
DaVinci's Inquest (and later, DaVinci's City Hall) look fantastic.

8-) If it makes me look like the guy at the top, I'll pass.
WRT CSI
Wouldn't replacing a floppy with a harddrive be hardware enhancement?

The patents will have expired by now.
I was at SIGGraph when Michael Barnsley earned the emnity of
the computer graphics community by turning his technical
presentation into a content-free commercial pitch for his
new company. Since then I have refused to have anything
to do with any software

My wife I have noticed that all 3 CSI shows - N.Y.,Miami Las Vegas -
pay alot of attention to the photography. They all have their unique style.
I seem to recall a press piece a while ago talking about the specific
efforts the producer (?) went to, to give each show a unique photographic
