Other factors definately affects this. However, when I took most of the
images on the website, it was no wind, and the camera stood on a heavy
Sachtler tripod with a Foba Superball head on firm ground. Didn't notice any
quakes either...

When in portrait orientation, the mirror and shutter flaps horizontally. Are
you _absolutely_ sure that 2 seconds is all it takes to dampen vibration
along a horizontal axis? BTW, there's no mirror pre-fire on the Z-1...
