M42-Pentax K/M adapter (no brand info) and 2 threaded lenses - Pentacon

them seem to stop down. The

Not much of an answer, I know, but ... I did precondition this with "sort
of responding" now didn't I :-)

Difference in philosophy? The only m42 lenses which will stop down with
these adapters are
those with Auto/Manual switches or old Presets. The m42's were wide open
by default where as
the "new" k mounts closed down to their taking apertures by default.

They work well enough in a pinch, if you stick with the original Pentax

I have one of the original Pentax ones Rogier.
It seems to work just fine with the 2 screw mount lenses I have (55 1.8 and
135 2.5). I've only used it on the K1000 and have yet to try it on the LX
however I don't see why it wouldn't work the same way.

They work great. Many lenses are available for cheap in m42, it gives you the
opportunity to try all sorts of things, like say, a 180/2.8 Zeiss. Biggest
downside: stop down metering only. I keep one on an old ME body all the time.
And I have an old spotmatic with a dead meter.
