The AF280 is a pretty robust flash unit. I would do as Don suggests
and fire the unit 10 times or so by hand to see what happens. I also
think the PZ-1 is pretty robust and will not be destroyed by any
faults in the AF280.

it got warm and wouldn't charge. When allowed to cool
it started acting normalally again.

John, I don't know if these are still available new.

I run mine with NiMH rechargeables inside, and have had no problems. On
full charge,
Frantisek,
Setting my Gossen Luna Pro Digital F to ISO 100 and 1/60 flash synch,
it reads F8 for a value when the flash is fired on manual from 2
meters. Hope this is what you are looking for.
It also takes about 4 seconds to recharge after firing manual using
fresh NiMHs.

I've been doing this for years with business cards. I found that it works
better than my Lumiquest bouncer.

Thanks Dave- will look for what you're talking about.
I think I'll have to get a diffuser for the flash, unless that's what
you're
talking about.

Taka,
With the Super Program, all you have to do is put batteries in, set
the flash to TTL, set your ISO, put it on the camera and take pictures!!
You'll love the combo. My main setup for years was this along with
the Winder ME II, and A 35-105/3.5.

Steve,
Thanks, I figured that part out, but I'd like to know about the other
modes.
Can you help out w/ these other modes?
I tested the TTL capability- works great.
I think this flash may also replace my Minolta flash for use w/ the
Spotmatic.

Taka,
I copied the instructions and somebody put them up on a web site. Was it Chris?
Anyway if you don't get a response ask again and I'll dig out the original 16 jpg's
(3+ megs).

Hi Taka,
Just turn it on, set it on TTL and you`re now taking perfectly
exposed photos (with Super P). It`s a great little unit.
Congrats!
