Hi Albano,
Minolta only recently introduced focus distance in the
communication protocol between the lens and the camera (as opposed to
Pentax who had it starting with the early F lenses). Distance info is
used in some sort of 3D program mode as well as in TTL flash programs.
I supposed that without it, the body will revert to the functionality
of its older camera.
Sorry for not being able to tell you more but hey, I'm just a poor
