On top of what you have said, I've done more research myself. The printer
profiler does not support my printer, RX500 is listed, not RX700.
So it seems that the extra cost would be a total waste for me.

If your printing with Epson ICC profiles, you won't need the printer profiler.
I'm using the Spyder 2 Express to calibrate my monitor and printing on the
Epson 2400 with Epson paper and profiles. Perfect match.
