I can definitely see your point Godfrey. When birding i.e. a twig can distract AF a lot. In these situations I usually sends some warm thoughts to Pentax for the Quich Shift feature. The combination of AF and QS gives me the best of both worlds. Still learning to use it though ... MaritimTim 200
