FA*80-200/2.8

I've just used this lens on my Z-1p and my MX back to back. It's very
fast from the Z-1p, very quiet, very nice to work with.

On the MX, once focused, I can snap it back to AF mode, effectively
locking the focus and just worry about composition.

This lens is expensive, hard to find, heavy, burdened with features
you'll never use but, wow, it is sharp and well featured. If you want
an 80-200/2.8 for Pentax and you see one of these, go get it. You'll
always regret it if you don't. This lens is rock solid and superbly
usable on any Pentax. I want an adapter to use this on my P6x7.

put the vertical grip strap on the Z-1p and it handles beautifully.
It uses every feature of the camera, you get 3d metering, just like an
F5. (I think the Z-1p+FA*80-200/2.8 is the same weight as an F5 with
the Nikon 80-200/2.8 lens. This is just a field comparison when my
mate said "I need Astia but I've just loaded Velvia. What's in
yours?"
  "Astia."
"Lets swap. How do the controls work?"

End result: he thought the Z-1p was a very easy camera to use and I
thought the same of the F5. Nicely balanced too.)

The same guy did drool alarmingly over my P6x7, but with an F5 and an
F100 he ain't going to go 35mm Pentax.
