I'm thinking about 2 things: * is your DA21 recent? The first batches had focussing problems. * you can cheat and use a hecked firmware to downgrade to earlier firmware permitting debug menu. Once settled, you can upgrade again to v1.3 -- Thibault Massart aka Thibouille -- K

I would never used hacked firmware in my cameras. That's a very risky business IMO. I depend upon my cameras... My DA21 is one of the first available and it has no focusing issues. I recall a longish thread on DPReview forum where it seems there is a step in the focusing algorithm based upon
