Well, it is, but I've managed to put the lens back together with a
"field expedient repair", I snipped off a bit
of rubber band and stuffed it into the hole the spring and ball ride
in. It took three attempts but I was able to
get just enough rubber to keep the ball in contact with the raised c

I have the Vivitar Series I 19-35. I bought it for a trip up north where I
wanted a more recta linear wide angle than the F 17 - 28. It's a good lens
- fairly sharp and good color rendition. The only problem I experienced
was with flair - I had a few shots that could have been titled "Beam m
Mine is the F2.8. I got it a few years ago before going to the Grand
Canyon.

Need to add a wider lens to my current collection, as a first buy budget lens
how does the Vivitar S1 19-35 fit with you guys? There's not many low-cost
lenses under 35mm so any suggestions welcome!
Currently have a pentax 35-80 and a sigma 100-300.
