Most of Pentax cameras are assembled in Philippines: all S-series Optios and
all DLSR's.

I don't know about Pentax, but Nikon, Canon, Contax and Minolta flash
units all come from National Panasonic, as did the best of the
Vivitar units.

proudly said that it was the first Pentax digital camera whose firmware was
fully developed inhouse. All S-series digicams derived from the original S.
