Winder LX Question

Greetings all   I just received a LX winder from an Ebay aution.  On the back left hand side there is a lever, that for all intents and purposes, looks like a self-timer lever.  It doesn't seem to readily move or engage to either side.  Could any of you learned Pentaxians enlighten me as to
