compatibility for an extra $10. This is probably worth it as
otherwise they won't warranty the unit, and I suspect you need
access to a Windows computer to install the updat
I just ordered a PD7X with a 40GB drive this afternoon. Total
cost CAD$305, including taxes and shipping. Seems like a good
deal considering that's less than two 1Gb SD cards would cost me.

They are pocket-sized pieces of technology that do the same work of
the pc: it allows a direct transfer from a digital camera into an USB
memory-store device.
Unluckily I've no link to
USB2 works with USB1 or 1.1, but at the lower speed.

I bought a laptop. Way overkill, but it allows me to shoot RAW and
see what I have gotten
I use the X's-Drive II VP2600 (@ 40 GB). It will transfer most memory cards,
is relatively inexpensive for this type of thing (approx $225 IIRC) &
compact. A drawback is that there is no way to review images (I do a simple
edit in the camera after a days shooting & then download to the X drive).
