Paul,
Yes, I'm the one with a Revue 55/1.2.
My first 35mm, a well used Honeywell Pentax H1a, had a SMC Takumar
55/1.8 on it. That was one good lens. I've been partial to a 55mm's
perspective ever since.

Yes, Mark, that would partly explain your reverence for Ricoh's 55/1.2K. I
forget: Do you also own a Porst 55/1.2K? Cosina? Revue?
At least I can say I briefly owned a Vivitar Series One 55/1.2K prototype.
(Yoshi, by the way, says he prefers Ricoh's 55/1.2 to any Pentax 50 or 55 K

I have seen the K 55mm f1.8 a number of times. I think they just don't cause much of a
stir since the 50mm f1.4's and f1.7's are more sought after (not to mention the
f1.2's).
Doubt it's a dog as the SMCT 55mm f1.8 is a very sharp lens indeed.

I'll bite on the "dog" part, as I've got the 55/1.8 as well as various
50's from 2.0 to 1.4.

The K 55/1.8 (and the K 55/2 is exactly the same, except for some
extra baffling to cut the aperture a bit) is def
It's pretty much the same as the SMC Takumar. They are both very
good lenses. I think that they are a bit rare for what they are as
