Hi,
i had this problem (bevor i know that i don't need an recursor),
too. but i think this problem was caused of the running firewall.
the problem came at my servers from beginning and not after some
month.

my current setup is:
mysql servers:
1 master mysql
4 mysql slaves
dns:
5 dns servers with pdns
every pdns server has his own mysql server
zones:
10 000 round about

random
"hard given"
how will pdns handle the round robin queries?
is there any posibility to change this settings
for rr records ?

a few weeks before there was a question of a strange
behavior which wasn't answered till now. i have this
strange problem too:
After upgrading pdns to the newest version I have noted some strange
behaviour.
I recently upgraded one of our pdns servers from 2.6.20 to 2.6.21.
