Jim is correct that adults are better students. I often thought that universities should be off limits until a person becomes at least 25. Unlike Jim, I do have a good number of good, young students, but I think that they could get even more out of the experience if they were older. Jim Devine

Michael, I am 53 and began teaching in 1969. Yes, I had many veterans as students. We used to hit the bars together. They were a good group, and we used to argue a lot. Some were offended when I was the only prof on my campus to cancel classes during the first anti-war moratorium in 1969.
