A footnote to the discussion on male upper-body strength, etc.  One form of 
body-strength that is usually left out of the discussion is the muscular 
force exerted by women in childbirth.  I don't have numbers, but suspect that 
the power of a late-stage contraction of the uterine muscles would far exceed 
what either men or women can do with the outward-oriented muscles.  The very 
definition of physical strength has been biased against women.  None of this 
counters Jim's point that modern technology, not to speak of moral 
possibilities, makes considerations of body strength in general obsolete.
