Mexican regulations are weaker. U.S. companies take advantage of these weak regulations. The bad food argument makes sense. For example, trade regulations have made it difficult for Europeans to regulate their food in the sense that the World Trade Organization will not let them keep out meat and milk produced with steroids or bovine growth hormones.
