That's why I posted Larry Summers' skeptical remarks about "globalization"
the other day. If this very smart apologist for capitalism doesn't buy the
argument, then maybe we should look at it a bit more carefully.

Also, even if you do accept a bit of the globalizers' version of things,
their model of tightly linked just-in-time global networks is very
vulnerable to well-planned pressure. If the workers in these networks talk
to each other, they can put major kinks in the network. Even a work-to-rule
action at a crucial components plant could screw up production. The key, of
course, is solidarity, but that's nothing new.
