Paul Sweezy's first chapter in _The Theory of Capitalist Development_ is one of the clearest and most eloquent arguments for basing economics and, more generally, social theory around social relations. I would like to make this point in my urban theory course next fall, but a more modern reading with a less singular focus on Marx's economics would be far more useful to me. Can anyone suggest something along these lines? Thanks.
