Announcing POLEC-ITA, a mailing list on economic policy in Italy.

La Citta' Invisibile, an Italian non-profit association at citinv.it
is opening a new mailing list on Italian economic policy.

The list, named POLEC-ITA, will cover any aspect of Italian economic
policy, with emphasis on "progressive" ideas and projects.
The list will be associated to an archive, storing proposals from
various sources on particular aspects of economic reforms, such as
regional disparities, unemployment, intergenerational transfers.

Attention will be given to a comparative analysis of Italy with
respect to the U.S.

Promoters of the list will organize public seminars, with papers
given in advance on the list for public discussion.

A first seminar is to be held in Naples, on March 22nd, 1995, with
papers by A. Graziani and E. Pugliese on the Italian Mezzogiorno.

A second meeting is scheduled for April, 29th, Rome, with papers by
L. Spaventa and N. Rossi on policies for reducing the Italian public
debt, with emphasis on social and economic costs of each policy.
                            --------------
POLEC-ITA is not an academic forum, eg it is not intended for debating
technicalities or the latest developments in the academic field.
The purpose of the list is to widen the debate on economic reforms to
the broadest possible audience. Therefore, we expect participants to
use non-technical expression (plain Italian!) and to be prepared to
illustrate their views to non-economists.

The official language of the list is Italian, but english is accepted
as well. Announcement for international meetings will be given in
English.
