The lead story on the ABC evening news was about the Nato air attack on a Serb passenger train in which 9 people died and many more were wounded. When asked if it would apologize for the civilian deaths, Nato officials stated that the train was traversing a bridge marked for destruction and that no apology was necessary. Unless a mighty protest is launched against this savage attack on innocent people, there is little doubt that the Nato forces will apply a scorched earth policy in Yugoslavia like Franco did in Spain or Nixon in Indochina.
