WINDOWS OF OPPORTUNITY

Beware if you are about to join the much
heralded rush to buy Windows '95. Long-time
consumer advocate, Ralph Nader, warns of
problems with the new software. In particular,
buyers should be aware of the Microsoft
Registration Wizard which provides the company
with information on files located on the
customer's hard drive. The Wizard is designed
to scan automatically a user's hard drive, dial
up Microsoft and download information about the
files that are on the hard drive, including the
title and versions of software applications.
Nader advises consumers not to purchase the
product until this feature has been disabled.
