The University of Southern Maine Economics Department seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the assistant level beginning September 1997. The successful applicant will teach intermediate microeconomic theory, research methods, an applied microeconomics course (e.g., urban, regional, health, education, comparative systems, etc.) and introductory courses. We seek candidates who are genuinely committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching in a collegial environment. We encourage candidates who have interdisciplinary interests and who are committed to helping students prepare to function effectively in a culturally and ethnically diverse society. Required: Ph.D. in Economics (or closely related field) and a strong interest in applied research. Salary will be competitive.
