I am responding to Jerry's ideas about the list.  Judging from off line
responses, Dave's posts are seen as very valuable.  Yes, the list is
international, but these posts do no bespeak provincialism, but the need to
obtain similar information from Brazil, Mexico, France, Australia ... and all
the other beachheads of the list.

As to non-economists: I did begin with the idea of a list for left/marxist
economists.  I was surprised by the number of non-economists that came on
board.  In reality, geographers, sociologists, and political activists have a
better idea about what is going on than most economists [present company
excluded].

My own vision for the list would be to track political/economic issues more
closely, but in an accessible style that well informed people could read.

Finally, thanks to everyone for the complements about the list, but the kudos
for me are really unnecessary.  On some very infrequent occasions, I have
intervened, but very few.  What makes this list run as well as it does is the
high calibre of the people.
