I am responding to Jerry's ideas about the list. Judging from off line responses, Dave's posts are seen as very valuable. Yes, the list is international, but these posts do no bespeak provincialism, but the need to obtain similar information from Brazil, Mexico, France, Australia ... and all the other beachheads of the list. As to non-economists: I did begin with the idea of a list for left/marxist economists. I was surprised by the number of non-economists that came on board. In reality, geographers, sociologists, and political activists have a better idea about what is going on than most economists [present company excluded]. My own vision for the list would be to track political/economic issues more closely, but in an accessible style that well informed people could read. Finally, thanks to everyone for the complements about the list, but the kudos for me are really unnecessary. On some very infrequent occasions, I have intervened, but very few. What makes this list run as well as it does is the high calibre of the people. -- Michael Perelman Economics Department California State University Chico, CA 95929 Tel. 530-898-5321 E-Mail [EMAIL PROTECTED]
