Governor Bill Richardson appoints Carol Miller to
Commission on Higher Education

SANTA FE - Governor Bill Richardson today announced that he has appointed
Carol Miller, a well-known health care expert and Green Party leader, to
serve on the state Commission on Higher Education.

³Carol Miller brings unique strengths as a grass-roots advocate and a
champion for public health and health education that will benefit the
Commission on Higher Education,² Governor Bill Richardson said. ³Iım
confident that Carol will be a valuable asset as we move toward creating a
seamless and coordinated K-20 system of education.²

Miller is the executive director and founder of Frontier Education Center, a
Santa Fe-based research, education and advocacy organization. Miller
previously served as a public health consultant, national rural health
advisor and health care administrator. She developed and taught college
undergraduate and graduate level courses for nursing and health education
students at the University of New Mexico.

Miller will serve as an at-large member on the Commission through July 2007.
