Dear Chris, I assume that you are referring to the Association for heterodox Economics. It was formed in 1999--its history can be found under the Annual Conference and then click on about the AHE. The AHE is its own organization so to speak--it does not consist of any other organizations. Of course it has friendly relationships with CSE, EAEPE, Post Keynesian Economics Study Group. Many of its members belong to these organizations as well. The AHE is the 'largest' and most significant of the heterodox economic organizations in the UK and Ireland. It welcomes all economists that that are tolerant and willing to engage is open discussion on economic topics broadly conceived. At its annual conference, it has papers from Post Keynesian, Institutionalist, Marxists, Sraffian, Social economics, Feminist economics etc. perspectives. Unofficially, the long term orientation of the AHE is to help foster the development of heterodox economic theory to replace the mainstream neoclassical economic theory. You should contact Andy Denis at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or Andrew Mearman at [EMAIL PROTECTED] If you have any further questions you can also contact me: Fred Lee at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Just to let you know: I formed the AHE in 1999 while I taught at De Montfort University in Leicester; I now teach at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I also issue the Heterodox Economics Newsletter, the website can be found below.
