GUI Users isn't the group to ask. Perl-Users or Perl-Admin from Activestate.
But, to answer your question, use WMI. Check out Dave Roth's books.

Not a lot out there. Typical Open Source nonsense. Dada's site really
isn't worth much. Don't know why it is still there.
Sourceforge.net is good, since they maintane it & the best place as well
for downloading the .665 Beta as it has quite a lot, examples and such.
