Colleagues in Europe,

ECHA, the European Chemicals Agency, is currently consulting on the
Austrian government's application for derogation of nitrogen from the
Biocidal Products Regulations:
https://echa.europa.eu/derogations-for-the-protection-of-cultural-heritage/-/substance-rev/24401/term
.

When responding to the consultation, the ICOM UK position paper on nitrogen
may contain some helpful information:
https://uk.icom.museum/news/view/?title=/icom-uk-urges-the-eu-commission-to-re-establish-ability-of-cultural-heritage-organisations-to-use-nitrogen-for-conservation-treatment/.

Please tell all your friends and colleagues and encourage them to
contribute to the consultation. The Austrian application is a corner stone
in the drive to re-establish the ability of cultural heritage organisations
to use nitrogen anoxia with in situ generated nitrogen as a pest insect
treatment methodology.

Best regards

Christian
