Hi Pest List - The British Museum is seeking an Integrated Pest Management
Manager for our complex estate. The post-holder will play a key role in
development of Policy and implementation and delivery of the Museum’s
estate-wide Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy, to protect both the
Museum’s collections and reputation by minimising pest problems.

In this role, you will work directly with stakeholders to ensure that the
Museum meets its requirements in relation to policies and procedures,
including anticipating the future needs of the Museum. You will need to
deliver an appropriate training programmes to maintain the profile of IPM
within the Museum.

*Key areas of responsibility:*

   - Implementing, reviewing and delivering the IPM strategy and programme
   and working with other stakeholders to develop supporting policies and
   procedures as required
   - Facilitating and ensuring consistent delivery of IPM roles and
   responsibilities from all Museum departments including inspection of spaces
   and activities
   - Ensuring that an appropriate training programme is delivered to
   maintain the profile of IPM within the Museum, including delivery of staff
   and contractor general IPM induction
   - Ensuring delivery of recommended actions by Hard and Soft services
   teams to prevent pest problems, through close liaison with Facilities and
   Building Services departments
   - Advising Capital Planning and Programme Management, Exhibitions and
   other designers on IPM issues
   - Liaising with external pest consultant and pest control contractors
   - Liaison with other on-site contract providers, particularly catering
   service provider to ensure compliance with IPM procedures
   - Maintaining Estate risk zone maps; compiling, mapping and reporting
   all trap and other relevant data; and updating or revalidating of policy
   and strategy documents and implementation plan as required
   - Site inspections and audit to ensure cleaning and maintenance regimes
   are adequate
   - Management of the Museum’s Pest Treatment Facility ensuring compliance
   with legislation and best practice.
   - Where necessary manage response to pest outbreaks

*About you:*

The successful candidate will be educated to A-level standard or have
equivalent experience, including a professional IPM qualification and/or
demonstrable experience of IPM. You will have excellent communication and
IT skills and the ability to decipher data, plans, reports and design
drawings to provide presentations to department and stakeholders, as
necessary.

We are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking individual, who can
influence and work with others to ensure that objectives are met. You will
need to have the ability to prioritise your workload, work unsupervised
under pressure and take ownership of any problems. The post-holder will be
confident in communicating technical matters effectively to a variety of
audiences.
