Happy new year to everyone.
I've got a FreeBSD 6.x machine acting as an ftp client using ncftp. It's
connecting to a server with passive off set in the .ncftp/prefs_v3 file.
Both the FreeBSD client box and the lan are protected by an OpenBSD machine
running pf and ftp-

The simplest example is the Microsoft ftp client that comes
with Windows XP.
I've put 0.8 into production today. 0.5 was running before, which was
crashing once in a while. You'll get more feedback from me after a
while.

Not a direct answer to your question, but try proxy_suite in ports
it works quite well with an OBSD FTP server behind a PF NAT firewall.
