I am currently getting a "unexpected EOF on client connection" when running
pg_dumpall from a bash shell script in cron. I have looked online to see if
anyone else is having or have had this problem without any luck. I am hoping
someone can point me in the right direction to determine what is

I am trying to find out what PostgreSQL does when it cannot write to its SYSLOG

All of a sudden the psql for 9.0 is giving me the error below. The dump is
just a partial dump. Is this a known issue? It was working for about 4 days

Do any of you do vulnerability scanning on your PostgreSQL database clusters?
If so, what do you use to do this? We have tried Rapid7 without any luck so we
are looking to see if there is anything else out there.

NCI,
Coming from the Oracle world we were able to have a different default
tablespace for each user or for a group of users. Can you set the default
tablespace to be different for a group users/schemas in PostgreSQL? Or, do you
have to set the default tablespace at the database level? If you can s
Can the log_statement configuration parameter be set at the user level? For
auditing purposes I need to capture certain statements being executed by
specific accounts. However, there are some accounts that it would be nice not
to be logging this information nor is it required. If log_statemen
I need to get a copy of the 8.4.2 Linux 64 bit One Click Installer instead of

when upgrading to 8.4.3.

I am currently using the pg_hotbackup Perl script to backup my production
PostgreSQL database. However, the next production database is going to be
close to a terrabyte in size. We feel that a tar cvzf command is not the
correct OS backup solution to use. Instead we would like to use lvmsnaps
I am in the process of trying to enable Server Instrumentation on Postgresql
8.4.1. I installed the software using the Linux one-click-installer. I have
looked for the sql file that is shown on the screen that comes up when I try to
use the Server Status tool in PGAdminIII but cannot find it.
Is the pljava.so file included in the PostgreSQL 8.4 binary file for Solaris 10

Does anyone use OS snapshot as the file system backup solution in the

One of my security controls is to audit events. I don't have a problem

the PostgreSQL database to cease or stall if the directory that contains

I was working on a security plan for PostgreSQL. One of my requirements
is to lock any accounts where a login attempt was made and failed
authentication three consecutive times. I cannot find or I am missing
in the PostgreSQL documentation on how to configure the accounts or
database to do this.
