I would like to setup database replication. It will primarily be used to maintain a quick swappable spare. I would also like to be able to shutdown backup occationally to make file system level backups while maintaining the ability to bring the spare up to date with the primary database once it comes back on lines. I'm looking for recommendations of the best solution to use. Is there any sort of concensus?
