Hi,
One of our PostgreSQL databases is generating archive logs too frequently,
since the number of transactions/s (inserts updates) is very high.
I was looking for a parameter on postgresql.conf to increase the WAL
segments size, but according to documentation this can only be changed while
influence that?
I know this is not a simple question, but hope that someone could show me
the light. :-)

Sometime ago I saw a project with the purpose of creating Oracle
views over the PostgreSQL catalog.
I cant remember/find it anymore. Do you know if its
still available?
Is there any other project aiming to create friendly catalog
views?

Hi,
1) I've a pg cluster with 5 databases here. I was wondering if it's possible
to make an online backup of 1 database only, not the entire cluster.
2) Online backups at Oracle are done per tablespace. Do you see any
advantage on this?

That's all we use - no problems, so never had to do any comparisons
I still opt for Slackware simplicity and stability. Nothing better than a
well configured Slackware box with XFS file system and PostgreSQL! =)
