Looking at audit logs, I see that my Postgresql server generates a new thread precisely every 30 seconds, in two series (so 4 threads every minute). This is an otherwise idle server. Does anyone know what these threads are for? Just curious. -- Bryan Henderson

the statistics is not a critical problem, I can't see any way to make the server stop trying in vain to update it, so I plan just to change the code to make the statistics collector terminate the server when it can't update the statistics file. -- Bryan Henderson
