[GENERAL] Client/Server [max connections]

Hi list, Could someone tell me the experience of many connections to PostgreSQL ? I am my afraid if when PostgreSQL have many connections (i.e: 1,000) it could cost much for the solution. Could someone tell me if my afraid is justifiable ? ---(end of broadcast)---
