Tried to issue the command "vacum full" both from
psql and the sql box in pgadmin without success.
How do you use the command?
select vacum full;
also does not work

I would recommend using getString()/setString(). You will need to
marshall the data into the correct format, but you will at least be able
to get and set the values.
