Why not put an H stylus and bar in it? The Columbia Lyric reproducer stylus
and bar is a slightly modified C stylus bar with the early style of Edison ball
stylus so the H bar should fit with no problems. I would put a copper
diaphragm in it as well, that improves the sound if you now have mi
Hi Steve,If you think that the H bar and stylus would work, it would be the
easiest solution. I opened a can of worms with trying to convert my BF to 2-4
min with a BE kit. The feedscrew on the 2-4 min conversion is a special one
with an extension on the gear end to accomodate the 2-4 geartrain
But an H stylus tip is elliptical and a Columbia stylus tip is round. The H
will only track if it is mounted horizontally, like in the H reproducer.
Mounted in the Columbia bar it would not fit in the groove, would it?

After comparing my H reproducer to the lyric, they look very similar in the way
they mount, so I think it will work. The lyric is spring operated, while the H
is weight driven. That seems to be the only major difference...

reproducer has mechanical freedom it should work very well.
Both the C and H styli are sapphire rods with a knob polished in them like a
baseball bat. The Columbia is like the early Edison styli, they actually
polis
Nearly half the issue a wonderful article by Jerry Fabris on the Edison
Site with WONDERFULLY sharp early photos of the recording studios. This is an
issue that you'll store with your Fabrizio and Paul books.
