I've the same problem, but I am running a Tomcat3.0. I think it has something to do with xerces, since somehow I managed (once) to get rid of the bug, and now at each explorer startup a message "Searching for xerces_***.dll" appears. OS is NT4.0. And "not enough information" is definitely wrong, because thats all the information you can get from the problem without running a debugger on your own. Explorer has to be killed (Alt-Ctrl-Del) and Windows automatically restarts it, messing up display and losing all tray icons.
