rendering if the mysql_* calls are truly locking, unless your using
buffering and flush(). Worst case if the functions were locking, you
would see a PHP script execution timeout error, if they are being
displayed.

PHP 5.0 doesn't come with mysql support... You have to get the libraries
yourself... I think u can get them from mysql.com
Might have to pay? I haven't totally figure out the implications of the
no mysql in PHP 5.0 yet, but I know its not there.
