This is what I used that is relevant:
--with-png-dir=../libpng-1.2.5/ --with-zlib-dir=../zlib-1.1.4/ --with-jpeg-
dir=../jpeg-6b/ --with-gd
of course, the paths for libpng, zlib and jpeg will probably be different
for you.
