Without .htaccess you have two options: 1. Does your host offer a control panel? Mine has one where I can add password protection to any directory I wish - worth checking out. 2. require() a php file at the top of every page in that directory that does this: if (user is allowed here) { display page } else { sod off } HTH Jon -----Original Message----- From: Wilbert Enserink [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 06 September 2001 16:40 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [PHP] browsing permission Hi all, anybody knows a way to protect a directory on my webserver from browsing via a webbrowser. browsing is only permitted after users have logged in via a form on the website (so, I'm not able to use htaccess). thx.
