Photography with movie film is the same as photography with a still camera, it's still a function of film speed vs f/stop (aperture) vs shutter speed. Usually, movie cameras are set for one shutter speed, so the f/stop is set based on film speed (and perhaps adjusted by neutral density filters if

Ed: With humble gratitude to all on the list, I must confess I can't imagine measuring a pinhole to the thousandths of an inch. You are right that a Bolex with a pinhole would work wonderfully, too. I guess I was hoping to bypass the need for a Bolex. I did build the camera. It actually

bernard, *For ASA, just use the one on the film can. For some color films, you may need a filter and a little exposure correction for reciprocity but I have shot long long exposures w/ B/W reversal, no troubles! Call kodak's motion pic people at 1-800-621-3456 for more exact reciprocity info

Wow silver. I would imagine that silver is extremely malleable and could be thinned pretty easy with a hammer. Personally I make pinholes the brute force way and use aluminum or steel that have been discarded. I thin them with a grinder both before and after drilling. I usually use a fine needle

These two questions may be no-brainers to most here, but I'd appreciate some help: 1. What is the surface area of slide film, 135 - 36? (Or the surface area of 120 or 220 - I don't even know what these numbers stand for.) 2. Where can I get exposure times for pinhole cameras? (Is there a way

Levi, Silver is very malleable and it might not be hard to make your own. You can place it in selenium toner for protection, but I think it would be a good idea to let it tarnish in order to reduce flare. Jim K - Original Message - From: Levi Brown kerpl...@juno.com To:

I have used pinhole cut from aluminium plates (much thicker than 34 gauge, I suppose) and found that when shooting into the sun, the inner side of the pinhole hole would send out reflections onto the film (much the same as if you shoot with a standard camera into the sun, but a completely
