A friend of mine makes gum, cyanotype and van dyke brown prints with paper  
negatives by peeling the paper backing off the resin coating.  The image  
attaches to the resin and it very thin.  You then need to use a frame to  
hold it flat during exposure but the exposure times are very reasonable and  
the prints are beautiful.

He also has a mate that works in a hospital who gets him boxes of out of  
date X-ray duplication film.  This stuff is great because you can enlarge  
35mm negatives onto 8x10 sheets of this film and end up with large negatives  
for contact printing.
