This is correct. You will want to match your pinhole size to the focal length
of your camera. I find it easiest to make 10-12 at the same time. I do this
because it is extremely difficult to get the exact size you are looking for.

I'm new to the list here, and am wanting to build my first pinhole

I finally got some decent images out of one of my home-made cameras last
night. It's based on a mailing box, takes a whole sheet of photographic
paper nicely. f=60mm, with a pleasingly soft f/75 (0.8mm) aperture.
