I've heard from several list members (off-list) that they are unable to
ready messages sent as HTML. On the old list, I was able to prevent anyone
from posting HTML (rich text) to the list. But, it appears that the new
list does not provide a way for me to block this. I'm looking into this
further.
In the meantime, I'm asking that everyone please check to be sure you post
to the list in "plain" text, and not "rich" text (HTML). This is a
"preference" in most mail programs. If your text has any color, bold,
italics, anything other than just text, you are using rich text, and you
should change this to plain text before posting to the list. I have been
guilty of posting HTML to the new list myself, so we all need to be mindful
of this. If you are not sure how your mail is being sent, please check
your preference or option settings and look for how your mail is sent. On
some mail programs, you may need to specify this before sending mail.
This is important because at least one list member has quit the list
because of HTML postings. The number of subscribers has dropped by about
40 people and I imagine some of these have unsubscribed because of the HTML
postings.
