Package: src:podman
Version: 3.0.0+dfsg1-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I get an error message when I try to run podman:

Error: Cannot connect to the Podman socket, make sure there is a Podman REST
API service running.:
cannot find newuidmap: exec: "newuidmap": executable file not found in $PATH

Installing package rootlesskit fixes the issue.

Shengjing is correct, podman works on my laptop just fine without
rootlesskit.
The uidmap package is required for running 'rootless' podman, podman itself
should work just fine without it in 'rootful' mode.
