I will extend 2001 to also cover hardcoded path to parse.js.

You might wanna consult d-devel@l.d.o - as you know my judgement have

Tracking upstream projects is the main issue with bundling, I believe.
Git is unable to help with tracking multiple upstreams, unless I am
missing something. Please do elaborate if you have ideas :-)

e.g. debian/upstream/* YAML data for that).

odd cdbs packaging style (I assume most here use short-form dh and -
like myself - dislike embracing multiple styles).

seems specific to Ubuntu/Canonical to me.
This is a Debian mailinglist. Ubuntu developers and/or Canonical
employes might be listening here, but I guess you have far better
chances getting in touch with them at their own lists/forums/whatever.

ugreport that the security team also
actively *lower* bugreports to avoid them being treated as release
candidate, for packages not maintained by the security team. That I
find a horrible approach: Severity of a bug is independent on whether it
will be fixed or not. The more proper tag to use is

Lack of support do not change severity. Seems more appropriate to then
tag as *-ignore instead.

backbone uses phantomjs only for improved regression testing, so I
believe the better workaround is to simply drop that build-dependency
for Jessie.
